Overview
Enrollify is a free resource library of articles, podcasts, and other media for higher education marketing professionals, giving them a community to engage, learn, and upskill themselves.
In an effort to build the content library, Enrollify embarked on a three-day intensive trip to interview a multitude of experts in the higher education industry. We created daily recap videos, made possible by sponsors, that summarized the learnings of the interviews into three vlog-style videos that were released the following afternoon.

We had previously produced a podcast roadshow in the New England area with only a team of two – my boss as the host and myself as cameraman. For this first podcast, we filmed during the day without a clear structure of what the final videos would look like and spent the evenings retroactively creating a vision for the day’s footage, learning the hard way that we needed more organization and intention behind our process. For this second time around, we decided to bring a team of four: two hosts, a second cameraman, and myself.
Pre-Production
For this roadshow, we split our time between San Francisco and San Diego, California, to visit several universities and marketing agencies. We interviewed people ranging from students, who explained how university marketing influenced them, to marketing professionals, who shared their insights.
Throughout filming, we made a concerted effort to note key themes in the interviews to guide the editing process later. With that preparation, we could quickly parse out those themes from the footage in post-production to create a more cohesive story arc.

Editing on the road is always a challenge, but luckily our Airbnb had an ultra-wide monitor that I was able to snag as I churned out the edits. Using my team’s notes, I quickly compiled the interviews. Even with our improved efficiency, cutting down two cameras’ worth of b-roll, selecting music, and animating graphics — not to mention being wiped out from a full day of filming — was a steep challenge each day.
RESULTS
While the initial purpose of the roadshow was to collect podcast content, this entertaining and informational project also helped grow the Enrollify community. The videos sparked engagement across the community, and the reach exceeded our marketing goals for the project. We produced three videos total: Day 2 featured above and the other two here:
